Subject: Campgrounds near Santa Cruz

Can anyone suggest good campgrounds within 30 minutes (any direction) of Santa Cruz? We may be there for an extended time & would like to have a couple to bounce around to. We are looking for parks with full hook-ups that are economical, family friendly and big dog friendly. Most of the state parks near there are $35 a night w/out hook-ups! That is too much. We would like to keep our cost at $650 or less a month....so that works out to $21 or less a night.

Joyfull - was wondering if you found a place in Santa Cruz? We were actually wanting to drive down that way to see Montery and do some tent camping. We're up in WA state. Was it fun? I've always wanted to see the beach carnival there! Thanks!

New Brighton Condition Beach is a great site with the city nearby and seaside accessibility. We camped for two night time and were stunned by the measure of turbines and hiking trailer. Also, the 10pm curfew is made. We got a check out from the ranger.
